Hello, everyone! It’s time for another blog post. Today I want to share what are, in my opinion, the 5 best teas of spring 2023. When this blog was still new I used to share tea recommendations fairly often, but I haven’t done that in a few years now. I figured it was time to bring tea recommendations back, this time on a quarterly basis. This post isn’t sponsored, although I would love to work with a tea company. I’m just a big fan of tea.
All the teas included on this list are ones I like iced or think I would like iced. However, all of these are good hot too if that’s what you prefer. I just happen to favor iced teas during the hotter months of the year. Anyway, let’s jump into the reviews.
1. Strawberry Clouds – The Spice and Tea Exchange
First, we have Strawberry Clouds, a white tea blend with notes of strawberry, rose, and vanilla. This tea is my absolute favorite from this spring. It has a nice strawberry flavor without being too candy-like. I enjoy this one iced and with a bit of sweetener (my go-to is strawberry monk fruit, also sold by this company).
This tea is available as a loose-leaf blend: https://www.spiceandtea.com/teas/limited-time-offer-teas/berries-and-bubbles/strawberry-clouds-white-tea.html
2. Jane’s Garden Tea – Harney & Sons
Secondly, we have Jane’s Garden Tea. It’s a green tea blend with pomegranate and rose flavors. I think it’s a nice change from your typical pomegranate green teas. The rose notes are subtle and keep this tea from being too sweet. This is a slightly earthier tea, as many green teas are. If that’s not your jam, you might want to skip this one.
You can purchase this tea as sachets or as a loose-leaf blend: https://www.harney.com/products/jane-s-garden-tea?variant=35000593862
Harney & Sons is also a Fair Trade certified company, which means their business practices have been examined and verified as ethical. This means they support safe and sustainable worker conditions, as well as transparent supply chains. The quality of worker conditions is a huge issue within the tea industry, so I always prefer to support businesses that are open about their practices. 3. Blackberry Sage – The Republic of Tea
Next, we have Blackberry Sage. This is a black tea with notes of blackberry and sage. I think this is a good choice for anyone who likes plain black tea but wants to try something new. It has a strong traditional black tea flavor. The sage and blackberry add layers of complex earthy flavor. I prefer this one as a tea latte with almond milk.

The Republic of Tea is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership, an organization dedicated to promoting ethical practices within the tea industry. You can learn more about them here: https://ethicalteapartnership.org/
4. Cucumber Mint Mojito – Brown Leaf Tea Bar
Cucumber Mint Mojito is a green tea with mint, lime, and cucumber. This one is especially refreshing over ice. I think it does a good job of mimicking the flavor of an actual mojito. Plus, the Brown Leaf Tea Bar is a small Black woman-owned business. I love the opportunity to support small businesses, especially when they make tea as good as this.
You can purchase this as a loose-leaf blend: https://www.brownleaftea.com/collections/black-teas/products/cucumber-mint-mojito
5. Cranberry Apple Tart – The Spice and Tea Exchange
Finally, we have Cranberry Apple Tart, an herbal blend with notes of apple, hibiscus, and cranberry. This tea is a nice caffeine-free option. When I first tried this tea I thought it was going to be more autumnal in flavor. While I do still think it would be good hot in the fall, the hibiscus and cranberry flavors pull it towards spring when iced. You can add a few drops of lemon or lime juice for added tartness. The hibiscus gives it a lovely pink color. Overall, this one is a real treat.

I hope you enjoyed these tea recommendations, and feel free to leave me your own recommendations in the comments.
See You Next Time,
Elliot J. West
